Public Input on Rental Accommodations Regulations

The City of Ottawa is conducting a review of by-laws related to rental housing to address public health and safety, consumer protection and community nuisance, among other municipal concerns. This review will examine the current state of the private sector rental market and consider how regulations influence the quality, availability and affordability of rental housing.

The goal of the study is to create a regulatory environment that best meets the housing needs of residents through effective, enforceable and sustainable enforcement.
